Like you, we are concerned about the oil spill. The good news for us is the NOAA and the University of South Florida Ocean Circulation Group pictures and predictions show the spill getting no closer than 100 miles off the coast of Clearwater Beach. Some experts are even predicting it will never reach any other coastline and some say it could reach the Atlantic coast before it ever reaches Clearwater Beach.
Even while we hope for the best, we recognize the unpredictability of the situation. Our policy is as follows:
If the beach is CLOSED by the proper authorities after your arrival and you chose to leave, you will be refunded the portion of your stay during which the beach was closed up to one week.
If it is CLOSED by the proper authorities before you arrive, and remains closed for your entire stay you will be refunded your deposit.
Here is a view from the experts: "the west coast of Florida from Tampa Bay southwards to the Everglades is at minimal risk of receiving oil from surface currents. There is a "forbidden zone" off the southwest Florida coast where the shape of the coast, bottom configuration, and prevailing winds all act to create upwelling and surface currents that tend to take water away from the coast. We are very happy with our stay. The staff at the rental office was friendly, helpful, patient. They let us use their computer and printer to get Busch Gardens tickets. The condo wasn?t real fancy, but exactly what we needed when staying with a group of teenage boys. Pool was nice. Lots of bath towels. We would recommend Florida Beach Rentals to anyone. We loved the location and the creativity of the condo owner. What a beautiful view of the beach every morning. Also, the decor of the condo made it very unique and enjoyable. It was great to have beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas available as well. Very roomy too!

The condo was wonderful. So much room. It was great to have a room for everyone. We really enjoyed ourselves. The weather was quite cold when we got there,but after a couple of days the temperature started go up. We saw a lot of games. Hope to see you next year.

Every person I dealt with at Florida Beach Rentals was helpful and professional. They went out of their way to help us. Everything was ?as advertised? except for one thing that was important to us: we were told there was ?surround sound? for music and TV in the living room, but the owner had removed the equipment. That was disappointing, but everything else was wonderful!!! The weather was colder than we expected for our month-long stay in January 2010, so we were glad to have such a wonderful ?home away from home? where we could be comfortable and enjoy the views from inside. The sunrises and sunsets are different every day ? and stunning! Even the lights at night are beautiful (reflecting in the water overlooking the Clearwater Causeway and downtown Clearwater Beach). We saw dolphins in the water below our balcony at least once a week and, of course, every day there were plenty of birds (egrets, herons, pelicans, gulls, cormorants, etc.) who found easy fishing right outside the condo. Also lots of boats coming and going from the harbor area around the Clearwater Pass into the Gulf (the dolphin excursions, the pirate ship, the Sea Screamer, sailboats, jet skis, fishing boats, dinner cruises, and more). Never a dull moment, even when it?s too cold to go outside. We loved every minute!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit was in pristine condition in a building that is maintained to a very high standard. Located right on the beach with beach views from the terrace, we found this location to be a perfect family destination. It is worth the premium to stay at Sandpearl.

I can not rate both the condominium 705 Harborview Grande or Florida Beach Rentals highly enough. Fantastic accommodation and fantastic customer service! You will not be disappointed. The condo wants for nothing. I tried very hard to find something that had not been provided but failed. The owners have thought of absolutely everything and the description and pictures are very accurate. In fact we felt the pictures did not do the condo justice! It was even better than the pictures. From the moment I made contact with Nancy Stewart the owner, who was extremely helpful and responded to my e-mails very quickly, through to my email and face to face contact with the staff at Florida Beach Rentals, I was extremely satisfied. I would not hesitate in recommending either Florida Beach Rentals or the Harborview Grande to any visitor to Clearwater Beach. I am quite fussy and like good quality accommodation and excellent customer service and I got both with abundance. We had a fabulous time at the Dockside Condos at Clearwater Beach. The accommodations were perfect for a family with 2 kids. We felt right at home, but without all the worries! We were within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and activities. The views were great - the Gulf on one side and a beautiful dock on the other. It was so relaxing! I would highly recommend it to others!
